Transfer news LIVE: Antony to Man Utd in new twist, Arsenal suffer Paqueta blow and Liverpool latest

Manchester United's pursuit of Ajax's Antony and Chelsea's move for Wesley Fofana are two of the biggest deals being pursued as the summer transfer window edges towards the September 1 deadline.

The summer transfer window is nearing its deadline on Thursday and the Premier League still has plenty of deals to be done.

Manchester United's 2-1 win over Liverpool on Monday has given Erik ten Hag hope for the rest of his reign, but the club remain focused on bringing in reinforcements. The arrival of Casemiro may have seen them turn away from long-term midfield target Frenkie de Jong, but Ajax star Antony and perhaps Barcelona's Memphis Depay are still on the cards.

Chelsea are another of the major players who still have business to conclude. Their priority target is Leicester City's Wesley Fofana, who is desperate to move to London and play for Thomas Tuchel's side. The Blues are also pursuing Everton winger Anthony Gordon, with Todd Boehly ready to splash the cash in the final days of the window.

Elsewhere, Liverpool have changed their tune and could be tempted to move for a midfielder before the window closes. Arsenal are chasing a forward to complete a strong transfer window for Mikel Arteta. Tottenham could still add to their array of signing for Antonio Conte.
